As a couples therapist, I specialize in helping neurodiverse, queer and polyamorous couples to communicate better and connect more deeply.

But all too often misconceptions, fear and shame keep couples repeating their same old patterns instead of getting a little help from a professional.

Going to couples’ therapy for the first time can be scary! You might feel afraid of what it “means” to seek counseling. (Spoiler: It usually means you’re ready to gain perspective and learn some new skills!)

Myth 1: Couples’ Therapy is just for couples

Couples’ Therapy is for couples, right? It’s in the name! But in my practice, I actually prefer to call it “relationship therapy” because truly, any combination of people could benefit from the improved communication and conflict resolution skills of going to therapy together.
